Robo-bee: miniature robot perches like an insect

Scientists working on Hardware Microrobotics Laboratory have developed an insect-sized robots that can perch on ceilings. The robots, the size of a 10 pence coin, are programmed micro drones equipped with sensors and can be used in swarms to be deployed in natural disasters like forest fires to aid rescue ops. The perching capability of the robots enables them to conserve energy and fly longer.
