Brazil-type Zika confirmed in Africa for first time - WHO

World Health Organisation on Friday said that the dreaded Zika virus, which causes birth abnormalities and neurological disorders, has been confirmed in Africa for the first time. The virus was found in a sample from Cape verde, a small island nation 570 kilometres off the coast of Western Africa. WHO said that the finding is crucial as it proves the outbreak has spread out of South America.
